As they journeyed through Amphipolis and Apollonia, they came to Thessalonica, the main city of Macedonia where there was a synagogue of the Jews. (ACT 17:1-3) There Paul wrote (1TH 2:2) that after he was shamefully entreated at Philippi, he preached the gospel with much zeal.
