Paul sent ahead his travelling companions from Philippi in Macedonia to Asia. Sopater or Sosipater, (ROM 16:11) of Berea, Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, Gaius of Derbe and Timothy with Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia were to wait for him at Troas. He, Luke and the rest sailed from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread and arrived at Troas in five days. They stayed there seven days. (ACT 20:4-6)
