Elizabeth Bible (Church Slavonic)

The Church Slavonic Bible in the edition prepared under Empress Elizabeth and first printed in 1751, the older Slavonic text revised against the Greek Septuagint. It is still the Bible of the Russian Orthodox Church's worship, and the text the Russian Synodal translation stood beside. The spelling here is modernised: the Slavonic words are written in the civil Russian alphabet, without the titla, the accents and the old letters of Slavonic printing. Its Old Testament follows the Septuagint, with Tobit, Judith, Wisdom, Sirach, Baruch, Maccabees and the other books the Greek Bible holds; 3 Maccabees and 3 Ezra are not in this electronic text.
