Douay-Rheims Bible

The English Catholic Bible, translated from the Latin Vulgate by English exiles at Rheims (New Testament, 1582) and Douai (Old Testament, 1609–1610), in Bishop Challoner's revision of the 1750s as printed in America in 1899. It follows the Vulgate everywhere: the Psalms in the Greek numbering, the deuterocanonical books where the Vulgate places them, Esther with its additions at the end. Susanna and Bel, which it prints as Daniel 13 and 14, stand here as books of their own, as in the Greek.
